I am running Vista 32bit, with Office 2007 and Norton Internet
security 2007, and am on BT broadband. I have disabled outbound
e-mail scanning in Norton with no apparent effect.

With Norton, you may have to uninstall the product completely and reinstall
without the mail integration feature in order to truly disable it.
