Has anyone heard if Microsoft is going to fix OE6?

It aint broke. Why fix it?

It doesn't trim quotes (maybe that isn't "broken";
but it is a design
flaw).

It doesn't filter on most of the useful message
header lines (maybe
that isn't "broken"; but it is a design flaw).

What it is: An 'el cheapo' mail client of very
limited capability, and
should be immediately replaced by anybody who needs
real capability
in a mail client. Even Mozilla Thunderbird is
superior.

I was with you until you said TB was superior. I
always ended up coming back to OE no matter what other
ones I tried. I find OE with OEQuoteFix to be "close
enough" to what I need (bottom posting, treat the sigs,
color the text, etc.) and like the increases
functionality and features it provides when they are
properly used. I gree it's cheap (it's free with the
OS or for download), and could be more user friendly
for the uninitiated and definitely is poor to pathetic
for creating rules, but when I also couple it to an app
to work with blocklists (which will also work for TB et
al BTW), it becomes GREAT and the need to write rules
just completely goes away.
As in sex, it's more how you use it than how
powerful it is. For me, it's the best of all worlds.
Oh, I also bounce back and forth between OE and
Outlook, once I fiogured out how to make them play
nicely and not steal each other's thunder; again, user
freindliness missing for the beginners, but easy to do
once you learn the ropes.

My 2 ¢ anyway
