Default RETARDED HERE...HELP...PLEASE

that's what I'm going to do Bruce. I just order the cd (again) and will try
once more (fingers crossed). I'll be sure to save your reply and remember to
disable AV and firewall first. Wish me luck.............thank you.

Not having SP2 installed is going to cause many problems down the road. You
will also not be able to download SP2 updates.

Was your anti-virus program running when you downloaded SP2? That could have
caused your crash. If you have second thoughts about downloading SP2, then I
would suggest you order the free SP2 CD. You don't have to be online to
install it. Afterwards, install SP2 updates *with your A/V off*.

In the meantime, it might be fruitless to pursue your current problem.

Thanks Bruce. I'm an msn subscriber and use my main email address that
I've
always used with outlook express 6. I never use the free hotmail
accounts. I
don't know if this helps to clarify anything for maybe, you to get me in
the
right direction, does it? Maybe I should do a system restore back a month
and just download all the windows updates again? I dont have sp2 because
when I downloaded that after getting this computer (new at the time), last
year.....it crashed big time and had to have everything reinstalled.
Total
nightmare. Now what?

Hotmail is always acting up to say the least. That said, do you have a
paid
Hotmail account? The error code you posted indicates you don't, but like
I
said, Hotmail has quirks of its own.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix. I'm always keeping computer clean,
running
antiviral, spyware removal, etc. Now, all of a sudden and
continuously,
outlook express 6.0 is acting up. Everytime I open it, the message
"some
error occurred while processing requested task" and "check for new
messages -
FAILED" appears. Also, "service currently unavailable" message. My
messages
do get downloaded but there's something definitely wrong. As well, I'm
noticing that IE goes to "temporarily not working...check your ie
connections....service may be temporarily unavailable"......Eventually,
with
this too I'm able to get the link I'm shooting for. I get nuts when
things
go wrong and I have a feeling something is going wrong and can get a
lot
worse. Anybody out there that can advise me?
