I have had to reinstall Outlook 97 after uninstalling it some time
ago. I'm having problems connecting to my email account.

I have set up a profile called Outlook97. In this profile, I've set
up my gmail account with all the ports correctly configured. In
Outlook 97, I've set this profile to be the default. But when I try
to check for mail, I get a box with only the Fax transport service
listed.

Unfortunately, Outlook 97 cannot be used with gmail. Gmail requires
SMTP authentication and Outlook 97 is not capable of that.

Yuck. Thanks, just what I needed to know. I do appreciate your help on
this.
