Default inserting a short cut to a Word doc in Outlook - Contacts\Notes

Diane, Hi, I'm using Outlook 2007 and you are correct. Had I spent a little
more time looking I would have seen that. My first attempts were to paste a
shortcut in the Notes field which was met with problems. Thanks, DH

I have a document on my hard drive and wish to simply create a link to
that file which is then placed in the 'Notes' field of a typical Outlook
Contact.

Why is this so difficult to do? There is no 'link' option for a specific
file, just web pages. If I manage to copy a short cut to the Notes
field, it is blocked as a potentially dangerous file. (Dangerous file -
do not feed?)

It is possible to be able to click on a short cut which would then open a
simple Word doc? _I don't want to copy_ that Word doc to Notes because
it will change from time to time and I do not wish to update both files.
Is this just me ... or is this unnecessarily difficult?

Thanks, DH
