would you not use an existing field that could be used in a merge. Let's go
out on a limb here. Hey. Why not use the Nickname field?

i tried adding a new field using view-current view-cusotomize and whlie it
seems to allow me to add a user-defined field which i called slauation -

new field does not appear on the view of contacts and I can't figure out
