One additional piece of info. When i tried to rename the Outlook.ost
file to see if that would help, it said it was in use by another
program, yet not other program was running.
Did you look at the Processes tab of Task Manager to make sure? Do you have
a PDA cradled? Do you have any desktop searches like Google Desktop Search
or Windows Desktop Search running?

Hi Brian.
I seem to have solved the riddle. I backup nightly, so I was able to
roll back my OUtlook files to the previous day. All went well until
Outlook started downloading a message that was using the calendar
function. It seems this message was causing the crashes. The e-mail
account that the message was using is accessible also by Webmail, so i
logged on and deleted the message. All seems well.
Are there known issues with such messages? Are there any preventive
steps i could take?
Best,
Bill
