Default why the date changes on 4 emails?

The date change occurs when you import the mails. It does not change the
original message at all as you can see if you highlight the message and
press Ctrl+F3 to examine the headers. It's just an indication of the last
date on which the file was "touched", i.e., modified.

Something weird -----

I have an OE 6 folder named SENT 2004. Emails I sent in 2004 are kept in
that folder.

Today, March 6, I created another Identity, XYZ 2004. I imported folders
and messages into it from the current identity, JBS.

Now I discover that 4 emails in the SENT 2004 folder in the XYZ 2004
identity are dated today's date (and all have the same time), but they are
2004 emails. In checking the SENT 2004 folder in the JBS identity, I see
those 4 emails are dated 1/11/2006 5:18 PM -- that is about the date I
imported the folder from OE 5.5.

Can anyone explain why the date changes on those 4 emails?

Jack
