Default Installing IMAP Outlook 2007 - How Can I get all folders in on

Carol Mattick wrote:

I think I have found the problem! The imap.gmail.com
data file is considered the default, but the
button "Set as default" is available to choose when it usually is not
when a file is already chosen as the default. All sent items are
going to this account, but not inbox / incoming email. Conversely,
the
imap account data file is not considered the
default but the "Set as default" button is grayed out. This is the
account which only has an inbox and into which all new email is
coming. somthing is not right here. Perhaps a problem with the
registry keys?

IMAP data files can never be the default delivery location. That's why the
"Set as Default" is grayed out.

Brian, when you put [gmail] in the root folder, do you only put that
and nothing else in the root folder?

Just that.

Or, how do you incorporate
[gmail] into a root folder that represents an existing data file?

I didn't incorporate "[gmail]" into any folder. I told Outlook to use the
mailbox path string "[gmail]" as the root of the IMAP folder list. This
causes Outlook to present the folders gmail contains differently in the data
file.
