Default Outlook removing stops from attachment path

automation means they used a script or programming to prepare the message
and send it to outlook with little to no interaction. One common use of
automation is to generate and mail reports from servers.

I am having the same problem and have a question on your reply. When you
say
the "sender used automation to attach the file" I am not sure what you
mean.
Can you clarify please?
thank you

outlook does not normally remove periods from file names. I've seen
issues
similar to this when the sender used automation to attach the file and
send
the message.

Hi there,
there is an issue with attachements that are sent by
Outlook
where full stops are removed from file names. This had me scratching
my
head for hours after sending someone a long named config file for a
.Net
library. The guy did not notice the full stops were missing and it had
me
flumoxed as to why it wasn't working until I noticed the stops had been
changed to spaces. Is this deliberate or a bug? I suspect it may be
for
cross platform compatiblity.

Cheers.
