Default What is the best way to shut down Outlook?

It can help you identify the culprit... I think I have most of the types of
programs listed, just not all the specific ones. I.e., several antispam
applications cause problems so if you use an antispam application not
listed, its worth investigating.

I forget - are you using XP or Vista? If Vista, are you using any gadgets on
the sidebar to access Outlook data?

Thanks. Looks like, just to be "safe", I should probably clear the system
try and task bar before shutting down Outlook, huh?

Unless weatherbug accesses email, it shouldn't matter. But you should
close
all applications that access email first then outlook, before closing
windows.

See
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.asp for some of the
applications
that will keep it open - there are many more not listed.
