Default Distribution List to folder

I already answered your question. So did you. DL's contain no Contact data.
If you want to try to create Contacts out of the information contained in a
DL, you would need to save it as a text file, convert it to a CSV file, then
import that CSV file into a Contact Folder.

We have an application separate from Outlook that will import our contacts
from Outlook, but will not directly read or use Outlook contacts or a
distribution list directly.

It will import from a folder, but will not import from Distribution lists.

A DL is a list of names and electronic addresses. Nothing more. Just what
did you want to create from this list? What do you mean by "folder?"

I have a personal distribution list emailed to me by a coworker and I
want
to
turn the list into a folder so I can import it into a particular
program.
How do I do this? The contacts themselves do no appear in the contact
list -
just the distribution list.
