Default Attachment File names do not appear in the message

Does it do this for all your messages or only Rich Text formatted messages?
More likely is that you have a 3rd party attachment handling addin
installed.

That is what I thought also until I noticed that it works on my home
machine
running XP and 2003- which is where I got the example. What then precludes
it
from running in the environment I identified (if you have the time to
answer)
Thanks for the quick reply.

It doesn't do this because it isn't an Outlook feature.
