Default Duplicate Contacts - Unable to delete

There are countless causes for this error message, and most are not caused
by Outlook. Most are caused by things end users do. You are naive to imagine
Outlook just does this all by itself for no reason. You have been there
using your installation. We have not. You have a far better idea what you
are doing that would affect your Contacts than we could. So the ball is in
your court. Think. What do you do? Do you synchronize your Contacts? Did you
import them? Did you transfer them from another installation?
I'll bet if you put forth a little effort you could provide steps to repro.
You'll need to if you expect help in a newsgroup setting.

"Somehow": refers to some screwy behind the scenes process that Outlook
did
to mangle my contacts. If I knew how it was done I could probably fix it.
The
fact remains that I have duplicate contacts and from Googling the "Invalid
EntryID" problem I see that I am not alone. Microsoft needs to step up
their
online support to include free email support for X amout of times per
license. Asking $49 to email someone is highway robbery and should be
leaglly
actionable. Oh, and by the way, thanks for your glib response!

"Somehow" duplicates were created? Tell us the rest of the story. You
know
more than this.

I am using the Contacts inside Outlook by opening the contacts folder
(by
clicking on the contacts toolbar button). Somehow duplicate contacts
were
created and nothing I do to delete them works. I keep getting the
Invalid
EntryID error message. I ran Scanpst.exe but that did not resolve the
issue.
I don't want to have to delete the contacts and start from scratch but
if
I
have to....

Explain more clearly what you are doing. You never work in the address
book
interface for this. You only work in Contacts Folders.

I have numerous duplicate contacts in my address book. When click on
them
to
try to delete them, nothing happens. I am running Outlook 2003 under
Vista
Business.
