Default Spell Check

1. If Works 8 includes Word, see
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/spellcheck.htm

[Some users will also need to place a copy of CSAPI3T1.DLL in C:\Program
Files\Outlook Express =this folder.]

2. If no joy, you can install/use a third-party spellchecker:

Vampirefo's Spell Checker for OE 2.x
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2952

TinySpell (checks spelling as you type)
http://www.tinyspell.m6.net/

Australian English Spell Check
(Also suitable for other English speaking countries.)

How to I access OH Help?

Look at the top of the OE window and click on HELP. Or use the keyboard
shortcut ALT+H+C.

Here's what you'll find: "Outlook Express uses the spelling checker
provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of
these
programs installed, the Spelling command is not available."

Do you have any of those programs installed??

red
check mark above the word Spelling and OE says it's trying to install
Microsoft Greetings 2001. Never had that.

Have you consulted OE Help: To check the spelling in messages?

What happens when you attempt to check spelling?

For some reason I've lost the spell check capability on my IE6 Outlook
