Funny enough I was planning to blog this tonight on
http://www.msoutlook.info.
It is possible to do this via the registry. I currently don't have my notes
with me to tell you the exact key you need to rename.
When you do a search for your Hotmail address in the regkey below you'll
find 2 entries in different locations. You should modify the value in the
location that has the most entries.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\profilename

I am using Outlook to access my Windows Live Hotmail email account via
Outlook Connector (this is what the MS Office site suggested). Everything
seems to work and I see my email account folders in Outlook under
', but I wanted to rename this to something
friendly
like 'Hotmail (username)', and cannot find a way to do this? Did MS
forget
to provide this functionality via Outlook Connector, or is there a way to
do
this that someone can outline for me?
Thanks,
Aloke
