Make a new folder in My Documents called Old Mail.
Copy all the DBX files, including Folders.dbx, to Old Mail.
Make sure none of them are Read Only.
Now try the import, selecting the Old Mail folder, not the DBX files.

Sorry about the multi posting. Both groups seem to be on this idea..
I have not used newsgroups in many years and messed up.
I'll try to cross post next time. Hope I get it right. I'll try with this
one

If you want to send identical messages to more than one newsgroup, please
crosspost one message to all the groups. This way if a post is replied to
in one group, it will also be replied to in the other group(s) as well.
Thank you.

OS- WINXP PRO sp2, Outlook Express 6, Fresh reinstall, Cannot import
messages or caddress book.
Do to serious problems with system I had to reinstall windows. I have it
configured in a multi drive configuration with the Operating System
(WinXP Pro) on drive C, the Programs on drive D, the Data on drive E, so
the Documents and settings folder etc is on E. This is the same
configuration as prior to the reinstall. I ghosted everything over to
another storage drive prior to the reinstall so I have everything
backeup pretty well.
Problem:
I cannot seem to get outlook Express 6 to import the emails or the
address book from the old setup. It says it completes importing the
"messages" fine but there is nothing in the mail folders afterward. As
to the WAB it shows an error whenever I try to import it.
I have tried many different ways to do this. Could it be a problem with
identities? I do not know exactly what the old identity could have been.
