area code
Get real. Why in the world would you blame me for Outlook's behavior? State
your case and defend it. Explain why Outlook should provide a different
phone number format for every user instead of a standard format for
everyone, when the latter is clearly the only way Outlook can serve its
purpose as a data base. It is up to you and your configuration of dialing
rules to meet your local conditions for dialing. How could it be any other
way?

There is no need too ?
Since when was it up to you how numbers appear in mobile phones. Area
codes
are not required for Mobile Phone numbers, especially in Australia where
we
use the same area code for all mobiles.
Can you be a bit more helpful and provide a solution to stop this
behaviour?

Outlook uses your default dialing location. You cannot change that.
There is no need to.

How do I stop the area code from showing up in the phone numbers of my
contacts. When I type in a new contact, even if I don't put in the
area
code, my area code shows up. I only want the area code to be there if
I
put
it in.
I use Microsoft Active sync to sync my contacts to my cell phone. The
sync
transfers the area code with the phone number and I don't want it
there.
I went to dialing properties and dialing rules but it won't let me
delete
my
home location. I guess you have to have it there. So does anyone know
how
to delete the area code in my contacts phone number?? Mary
