Default Appointments with attachments

Ensure that the external recipients have RTF as the default format for items sent to them. Double click on their email address, select Outlook Properties, and change the format to always sent RTF items. Never let Outlook decide - it uses very poor judgement.

After furious head scratching, asked:

| Hi All
| Help needed here. When users inside the company send out meeting
| requests with attachments, the external (outside the company) get a
| normal e-mail with the info and the attachment. If a normal meeting
| request is sent out sans attachment it is received fine. Versions are
| Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2003 Via Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003 to
| Outlook 2003 Via exchange 2003. Same problem regardless of the version
| of Outlook. It seems that the client that is receiving the error is
| running outlook 2003. Could it be a problem on the remote exchange
| 2003 server and the mime type? or is this a specific problem with
| Outlook and its configuration.
