thanks Gordon. i have added a new profile but what are the steps to "connect"
to the transferred pst file? does it matter if i added profile from two POP
forward accounts (gmail and yahoo)? i dont really know how those connect to
my data file. sorry for the lack of familiarity with the nuts and bolts of
outlook.

And therein lies your problem.
Create a new Mail Profile (Control Panel-Mail-Show Profiles-Add) and connect
to your transferred pst file. That /should/ solve the problem.
