Default Transferring *dbx files

If you include Folders.dbx, (I would do the entire message store), all you
need to do is copy the files from your CD to the HDD. Remove the Read Only
attribute as you mentioned and then open OE and import them.

In OE: File | Import | Messages. Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and
Import from an OE6 Store Directory and point to where you saved it. You can
import all folders, or individual ones.

Please read these.

I'm in the process of clean re-install of WinXP. I want to save all the
Outlook Express *dbx files (Inbox, Sent Items, and some personally added
categories). Am I correct in assuming that I can copy the old *dbx files
to a CD, then install XP/Outlook Express, open up Outlook Express,
re-create the non-standard categories, close Outlook Express, re-boot the
machine and then copy the saved *dbx files over the newly created *dbx
files. Since they come from a CD, I should probably check the attributes
to make sure they're not read-only.

Is this the correct procedure, or are there any hidden perils that I
should be aware of ??

Thanks in Advance,

Hagen Sahm
