I have XP pro. Now when I forward pictures or send pictures or any
type of attachment like a pdf file the recipient doesn't get the
attachments. It says attachment but there isn't any file extension.
Or sometimes they don't get the email at all. I have contacted my ISP
and they say it is a OE problem. I think all of my options are
correct. Set up for HTML and blocking file attachments unchecked. I
use AVG virus protection but without the email scanner.

I do not use the email scanner in AVG - it is turned off. I received
an email with pictures that I tried to forward but no one got it. I
tried to send it to myself and it worked. I also sent myself a pdf
file and a jpg which I received. So it appears that I can receive
email attachments but I cannot receive. Also, I compacted all of my
saved messages two days ago.

Now, *forward* those two test messages to yourself. Do you get them?

You wouldn't be using MS Outlook and not Outlook Express by any chance?

Who is your ISP/mail server?

Tools | Options | Send | Mail Sending Format.

For HTML Settings, use Quoted Printable and check Send Pictures With
Messages.

For Plain Text Settings, use MIME and None.

If that makes no difference, and since you get attachments forwarded to
yourself, I do not see how Outlook Express can be at fault.

Thank's so much for your help, as this is extremely frustrating. So
you think the problems is with my ISP? Thanks.
