Custom.dic - moving and sharing
I don't know if you can have the dictionary on a different drive than
Outlook Express and still work. I t doesn't seem to me to be logical. You
can right click on the Proof folder and Send To any place you want as a
backup.
Someone else will have to step in and answer your question in its entirety.

In OE6 when I go to Tools\Options\Spelling\Edit custom dictionary,
Custom.dic is located in C:\Documents and settings\Don Culp\Application
data\Microsoft\Proof.
In Word 97 when I go to Tools\Options\Spelling\Dictionaries, Custom.dic is
located in E:\Program files\Microsoft office\Office.
In any case, I would like to have all dictionaries on my F: drive, where I
keep all of my data for easiest back up (i.e., I just back up the entire
drive).

Unless you have a third party spell check, you are already using the one
from Office / Word. Outlook Express has /never/ had a spell check of its
own.

Is there any way to move OE6's Custom.dic dictionary from its default
folder to another folder? Of course, OE6 would have to recognize the new
folder.
Since MS Office also uses a Custom.dic, can OE6 and MS Office share the
same Custom.dic without interfering with each other?
Thanks,
Don Culp
