Blank message comes back from recepient
ok. so something is sending an autoreply of some sort. If its not a delivery
receipt generated by the server, then its something on his system generating
it. Maybe a rule?

He does not have to send a reply for me to get the blank message back
which
happens just a few seconds after I send it. I don't request read receipts
so can't see how this would cause the automated response.
No AV is installed on either of our machines and the firewall on his
machine
is the built-in XP firewall.

is it an automated reply or does he actually type something in it and you
can't see it? the first could be anything from read receipts to rules or
who knows... the second is a known problem. He needs to make sure he has
all the latest patches and updates installed and disable outgoing email
scanning on his antivirus. Some firewalls do virus/trojan scanning on
outbound email and if his does, that needs disabled.

Everytime I send an email to one particular person I always get back a
reply from him a few seconds later with the same subject but nothing in
the message. He uses Outlook 2007 and it looks like some setting on
there needs adjusting to prevent this happening.
Any idea how to do this?
