Default Reading messages and deleting them and moving to the next message

This is an option in Outlook that is configured for your desired setting.

- Open Outlook
- Select the TOOLS menu
- Select OPTIONS
- On the Preferences tab select the E-MAIL OPTIONS button

Right under the heading "Message handling" you will see a text box
labeled "After moving or deleting an open item:".
Change it from "return to the Inbox" to "Open the next item".
- Then click OK.
- Again click OK to close out of the Options window.

When I read a message I usually delete it. I want Outlook to open the next
unread message in the list. But it doesn't. It returns me to the message
list in
the Inbox and I need to then select the next message.

If I click on the down arrow while reading the message it will take me to
the
next one. But for most messages I delete them. Those that I wish to keep
I'll
use the down navigator.
