Default Phone List Sorting

The most common reason this function is lost is using "Outlook Today" as the
default view for the root file. Turn it off.

When I am in the "Phone List" view vs. the Address Card view, you lose the
quick A-Z roller dex listing on the side to quickly jump to the first
letter
of the contact group. On one of my computers at work, when I am using
Phone
List View and just type a letter, it will automatically jump to that start
of
that group of contacts. However on my other computer, that shortcut
function
does not work and I can not figure out which setting is allowing the
shortcut
feature to be activated. Both systems are running Outlook 2003.

Any help?
