I assumed that when I exported the file, a new file was created. That's why
I was confused by the term "Modified".

What's amiss? Your export is just a copy made today, it was last modified
yesterday when you either added or deleted or modified some contact info
in it. There is no rectifying needed since all the info appears correct
and will in any instance, not be a problem in the future when and if you
need the data contained in it.

How can this file be modified before it was created? Something is amiss.
I have subsequently exported the same address book, again: It always
shows the correct creation and access dates but always shows the Modified
date as March 11, 2006.

How can I rectify this situation?
