outlook 2000

when using Outlook recently, I was sending some large files. The system
appeared to be hung up. Task manager indicated outlook not responding, so I
ended outlook

now Outlook will not send emails.

When select Send/Recieve, the recieve line showes up with a green check. The
send line does not even show up as if it doesn't even try.

I've searched tools, options, send/recieve options,
tools/accounts/properties, and cannot find where to turn back on send emails.

I've even tried to reinstall Outlook using the Microsoft Office 2000
professional CD. No luck.

Since then, I've exported my emails to .pst file. But can't seem to export
my address book. When address book is open, under file, teh export(and
import) options are not available.

Pls advise.
