Thanks Bruce.
Its the one account that prompts me for the password, and when i enter the
password manually, even though i notice there is one already in there, it
still isnt happy with it, it wants it again. It never accepted my
password, doesnt accept the same password i use to log on to the same
account on the web page manually.
Until i tried (using outlook express again) using my old password, it
actually works using my old password. I dont know whats going on but I'm
now using the wrong password to make it work.
Its nuts!

If it is a Pop3 account and not Hotmail, (I know little about that), then
see these.

I've added about 5 of my ISP's different mail identities to the mail
accounts, one by one, so everything from my ISP (about 6 different
identies/alias) ends up coming to the inbox here in outlook express,
even included a hotmail account which works fine too, it all works
actually, apart from just the one identity which keeps prompting me to
re-enter my username/password which never seems to work.
I've tripple checked the account details are all correct, (even removed
the account from OE and re-added it carefully with the correct details)
it lets me log in fine with the details when i goto my isp's email log
on page via their web page log in so i know the account works fine with
the right details, and all the details are exactly the same as the other
alias i set up through OE apart from thr actual email address and
password.
So why would it keep refusing my password when it checks mails through
OE (all other accounts working fine through OE on the mail check).
Have checked the 'pop enabled' setting was on in my ISP email setup page
in the mail prferences online too, as that makes a difference, but it
looks like its on same as all my other ccounts.
Cheers for anyone who can shed some light on this.
