Motive SmartBridge (MOTIVESB.EXE) may have been installed by your ISP to
aid in reporting connection issues. I would consider uninstalling this
application unless you use it. Alternatively open MSConfig (Start, Run
and enter MSConfig in the box and click OK), open the Startup tab and
uncheck "Motive SmartBridge".

That's one thing I don't install ! machine is behind quite a bit of security
and even my isp cant see me until I drop stuff.
Learned way back not to trust anything from an ISP !
Connection is bog std cable so unlikely to ever need anything from an ISP.
Even ppoe is easy to set up without isp software.
