Default Outlook Address Book e-mails column is empty

Dear Russ,
Thanks a lot for your response. Everything you suggested to check was OK,
the address book was where it should, etc. Still, I did follow your
suggestions and removed it and reinstalled. Unfortunately the result was the
same. You may have missed noting that there is a problem in the Contacts
itself (please re-read my original e-mail), thus it is not surprising that
the Address Book doesn't work properly.
I did find another potential solution, but would thank you for your help in
completeing it: I temporarily replaced my Personal Folders.pst with a back-up
version of the same that I had saved end May: with it, everything works
perfectly. However if I continue working with it I lose all the
correspondence held since (I don't mind loosing the few changes made in the
comtacts, but do need the considerable amount of e-mail exchanged in the
period).
Is there any way I can import the contacts from the old .pst to replace in
the current one?
Thanks a lot for your assistance.
Israel

It is not unusual for the Outlook Address Book to “lose track” of the
connection to its Contacts Folder when you move or repair your PST or update
your Outlook version or operating system. Use the following steps to reset
the connection. Note that in some instances you may actually have to remove
the Outlook Address Book completely from your Profile, close Outlook, and
then re-add it before you can get it to work.

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book checked?
If this is grayed out...Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change
existing directories or address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present?
If it isn't listed, add it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed,
then remove it and close then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add
it.

I have Outlook 2002 SP3, working on Windows XP.
I had to use the "Inbox Repair Tool", after my "Personal Folders" wouldn't
open. It solved the problem, however a new problem appeared: in the
Address
Book all the e-mail addresses column is blank (the "Name" and "Dispaly
Name"
column do appear correctly).
Under "Contacts" all seems OK (does show the e-mail addresses) however,
when
I double-click a contact the V-card that opens has the e-mail address and
"display as" fields blank.
How can I recover my address book so that I can use it?
