I have the same problem, indexing never finishes. How else would one get
their contacts into Outlook? I imported them from a pst from Office 2003.
Indexing did not ever complete. I reinstalled Office, that did not solve the
issue and was then told to restore my computer, still did not resolve the
issue.

Weekly, I exoort all of my Outlook data to a pst for back up, is this not
the correct back up methood for Outlook?
