I changed the interval to 15 minutes - this seems to have fixed the problem.

Hm. I have 7:30 and 5:00 as my start and end times and 30 minutes as the
time scale and my Day and Week views always start with 7:30 AM at the top.
I can enough of the view to have it show to 10:30 PM. I use 1280x1024 for
my screen resolution.
