Outlook must close. Sorry for the inconvenience
Thank you! Her operating system is XP. Hope updating will solve the problem.

Does Outlook start in safe mode?
How to:
Select Start Run
Type: outlook.exe /safe
OK button
If Outlook starts okay, then it could mean an incompatibility between 3rd
party programs and Outlook. Since you didn't mention what operating system
you have intalled or whether or not you patched SBE Office 2000, I would
recommend that you apply the Office 2000 service packs. At the very least
this will bring Office + the contacts manager up to date.

I installed an older version of Small Business Edition, the 2000 one that's
no longer being used on any computer, on my sister's computer specifically
because of her e-mail problems. The installation went well. Word worked
fine and Outlook opened as usual. When I typed in the settings for her
e-mail accounts, I should have checked the LAN, but checked direct
instead.
When I was finished, there was a popup box with the message about
encountering a problem and must close; sorry for the inconvenience.
Subsequently, every time Outlook was opened, the same popup box
immediately
appeared, so there's no way to adjust the settings. Word still works
fine.
What could be causing this problem? Thank you so much for any assistance!
