Default Appointments disappear

Hi again,

Tried this... downgraded to 7.5... and the appointments are still
disappearing every time I sync.

It seems that I'm having the same problems as everyone else -- essentially
if the appointment comes up on the iPhone with a reminder, or if Outlook
gives me a reminder that I "dismiss," the appointment vanishes from the
day/week/month views the next time I sync -- even now that I'm using 7.5.

Any other suggestions? It's clearly an iTunes problem but I'm not sure how
it would still be occurring after downgrading.

On a side note, it's kind of refreshing to see people downgrading Apple
products for once instead of MS ones.

Thanks again!

Neal

Thanks, I'll try this.

I noticed you commented to someone else reminders -- that's a good
point, I notice they only disappear when I 'dismiss' the reminder... but
again, inconsistently.

I'll try downgrading iTunes and hopefully that does it. Thanks so much for
your help!

AFAIK, any older version will work, so if you have a copy of the download
for anything except 7.7, you can use it.

Uninstall 7.7, reboot and delete any folders/files left on the hard drive.
Then install the older version.

Aha! I'm also on 7.7, and would LOVE to know the same, how do I move back
to
7.5???

Are you using iTunes 7.7? That seems to be the cause - this according
to the
folks on the apple forums and howardforums.com. iTunes 7.5 seems to be
ok.

Sorry to interject, but I'm having the same problem with my iPhone (I
apologise for posting a new thread about this topic, this one didn't
show
up
when I searched the first time).

I'm confused by your response, Diane. The appointments that are
disappearing (for me anyway) were actually CREATED in Outlook, and
have
since
been synced to the iPhone using iTunes. I'm having the exact same
problem,
though, that they're disappearing from the day/week/month views, but
showing
up in Outlook Today and still showing up on the iPhone. I didn't
have
this
problem until this last week or so, and I don't recall running any
software
updates (other than to iTunes, but that wouldn't explain why MS is
having
the
same problem)

No it does not show, except in the Outlook Today view.

If
so, something is causing Outlook's Day/Week/month view to not
display it.

I don't know what you mean by repeating on the phone.
Outlook does display the appointment until the day of the
appointment.
I set up my phone to synch with our exchange server through
the
phone's
data
connection - there is an outlook client on my phone that I
put the
exchange
server's URL information into.
Thank you for continuing to help me with this issue.

it sounds almost like the same problem the iphones have -
they
are
marked
as
repeating on the phone and outlook cant display them in
day/week/month
view
because there is not enough data. The fix is to mark the
appointment
on
the
phone as repeating daily, ending the same day as the
appointment.

How are you syncing with outlook?

No. The appointments are still on my phone. In addition,
the
appointments
are
showing up in the outlook today view. I have reset my
folder
views
and
I
ran
the cleanviews command without any change to the issue.
