I got so freaked when I discovered the file was lost I did a back-up of the
remaining files and over-wrote the older back-up...dumb, I know ! Anyway, if
I had restored the older back-up, I would have lost my more recent emails
so, in retrospect, thank goodness it wasn't a folder that contained things I
didn't have hard copies of.

Since you've already tried all of the obvious stuff...is it possible that
it was part of another PST file and that you've closed that file? Have
you searched your hard drive for *.PST (Make sure to include hidden
folders) to see if there are add'l PST files on your system?
Also, I think you're learning the value of backups.
Sorry!

Don't know how it happened, but I had a folder in my personal folders
called
"Travel" where all my travel-related email was directed and now it's
gone!
Can I retrieve the folder somewhere ? (Outlook 2007 - Windows XP Pro)
