Default desktop gadget that show outlook reminders.

For vista's sidebar? I think there are some, but they keep outlook open.
Better is to minimize outlook to the tray and use the reminder window.

It would be nice to have appointment reminders delivered to a desktop
gadget
that has mouse-over details to keep the gadget size down.
