Paper Clip When There Is No Attachment In IE6
Thanks Bruce
Sorry, but I didn't make myself clear. The email in question is not being
read by my friend but is being sent to me by her. As far as I can tell, it
is in plain text and contains no HTML. I don't know what she anti virus
program she uses. I do use AVG with email scanning enabled. Only messages
from her show the paper clip when there is no attachment to the message.
I really don't want to turn of my email scanning. Isn't that one of the
purposes of having an AV program?
Thanks again.

Either your friend is reading in Plain Text and the e-mail contains HTML,
or they are using AVG (a good program) and have e-mail scanning enabled.
Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant
layer of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems
such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program
will continue to protect you sufficiently.

A friend's email to me always shows a paper clip even though there is no
attachment to the message. Emails from others don't show a paper clip on
messages without attachments.
Would someone please suggest what might be causing this to happen?
Thank you.
