Aren't you using by any chance gmail ???

I get the exact error number... PLUS an SMTP error number: 530... if you
read my thread: Gmail & Outlook Issue you'll read the symptoms I'm
experiencing and we might possibly find a solution together...??? ) We'll
be two in the same situation... (I know: it isn't nice but two heads think
better than one...)

I'm having somewhat the same problem, only I can send sometimes and then I
can't . I just tried to send to messages, one went the other didn't. The
error message gave the number 0x800CCC78. I checked with my ISP, then

checked my settings and said everything was OK. Had to be a problem with

program. I use OUTLOOK 2003, brand new, just installed on a new PC

XP.
