Default OE+Hotmail issues.....

AFAIK, you don't have OE on a BB, netdawg.

QP
Support for Windows Live™ Hotmail® integration

Integrating a Windows Live Hotmail email account results in the following:

- Real-time delivery of email messages replaces the standard 15 minute
polling interval
- No restrictions; all Windows Live Hotmail accounts can be integrated

Note: Some wireless service providers do not support integration with
Windows Live Hotmail. Contact your wireless service provider for information
on availability.
snip
Integrated Windows Live Hotmail email accounts must be revalidated every 90
days to continue receiving email messages to the BlackBerry smartphone.
Revalidation is required by Windows Live Hotmail for security purposes.
Prior to the end of the 90-day window, a message is sent to the BlackBerry
smartphone advising you to revalidate.

Access to free Hotmail accounts remains available in OE and OL, at least
until sometime in January 2009.

Didn't mean that OE wasn't working on BB. Meant hotmail was not working.

Turns out MS changed the server settings (I guess on Monday) and didn't
tell
anyone (or at least I didn't get the memo). I finally found the new
servers/ports and entered them on BB and works fine (but lost 2 days of
email on BB).

Then I deleted my hotmail acct on OE (risky) and added back, and sure
enough, MS has finally locked out even old accounts from using OE to
access
unless you pay for it. Congrats MS, I might just switch to gmail after
10yrs of same email address.

Gotta luv ya!! You want my $$??? Well, you can't have it. Ever! My
company pays for you, but I never will. I'm going Google all the way.
Have
fun wuthout me. Jerks!

It's also quit working on my Blackberry, as of yesterday 9/9/08. What
happened? Come on Microsoft!! What's up?

Hello All,

I have a new computer with a new install of XP Pro.

I am having trouble getting OE to connect/check with my Hotmail
account.

(I realize OE support for Hotmail is gone for new accounts, but I have
an
older account and having been using OE+Hotmail for the longest time. I
have it on another computer that works fine.)

I am getting this message when I check for email:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'Hotmail', Server:
'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol:
HTTPMail,
Server Response: 'Redirect to partner', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x80004005

Anyone know why I am getting this? The 'Redirect to Partner' has me
stumped!

Thanks for your help!
