Default unable to post to newsgroups

That the message moved to the Sent Items folder means that OE got
confirmation that the news server initially accepted the message.

Several things could cause the message to not be visible to you.

1) View, Current View settings for the newsgroup is not showing all
messages. Although if this were the issue, you'd likely miss a lot more
than just your posts.
2) Tools, Message Rules, Blocked Sender List, News you are blocking
yourself
3) After initially accepting your message, a later filter at the news
server rejected it. You'll get no notification of this. You'd have to
check with your ISP for their filtering rules.
4) Larger ISPs have multiple news servers under the same name. They are
supposed to stay in-synch with each other but some times get
out-of-synch. Each time you connect to the news server you might get a
different physical server and so might miss your posts, among others.
5) Your OE data store is corrupted. Try Tools, Options, Maintenance,
Clean up Now and RESET the problem newsgroup or news server. This might
also help with problem # 4.

hi,
up til about a week ago I was able to post ok to newsgroups using OE6
and newsroups.comcast.net.
Now my attempts at posting to any of the NGs via Comcast.net do not
show up in the NGs. I see them In OE Sent Items oK and I don't get any
error messages but not on the NG itself. Experimenting I found that my
posts DO get through on the news.microsoft.com server as this post is.
I've checked the settings in OE Tools/Accts/ news and all appear OK.
Logically, since my posts are OK in Microsoft's news server, but not
in Comcast's news server, it seems it should follow that my computer
is OK as is my typing finger and my OE and the culprit would seem to
be the Comcast server. I Just spent a fabulous half hour with
Comcast support and got nowhere. They have referred it up to their
advanced department and gave me a reference number.
In the hope that im might ring a bell with someone on this NG I
thought I'd give it a try.
Using Windows XP, News NNTP 119.
One possible (?) clue:
In OE Tools/ Accounts/ News, where in the "connection" column for the
MS server(which works) it says "Local Area Network" and in the
connection column for Comcast it says "any available".
Thanks for any help.
I'm subscribed to thirty NG's visa Comcast and I'm able to access them
OK and they are current. Just can't post in them
Fred
