Default Migrating Mail Questions

Hi Rob,

Here are two Microsoft KB articles that will be helpful. If you plan to use
Outlook on the second PC complete the restore of data for Outlook Express
first.

OLEXP: How to Back Up and Recover Outlook Express Data
OLEXP: How to Back Up and Recover Outlook Express Data

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;270670

OLEXP: How to Backup and Restore Outlook Express Blocked Senders List and
Other Mail Rules

http://support.microsoft.com/default...11&Product=oex

Not particularly easy, however.

More information and options

Get OETool (www.oehelp.com/OETool/) and OEQB (www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/) and
put them in the same directory. Then there is a button in OETool that will
run OEQB and backup to 3 levels of redundancy just with a click of the
button.

Both are free.

I'm moving to a new computer and have some questions. My old computer
has Outlook Express 6 and Office 2000 and is running Win98. The new
one will have XP Media edition and Office 2000.

1. Can I simply copy the current mail "Outlook Express" folder to the
new computer?

2. Is there an easy way to migrate the message rules?

Thanks.
