Change location of the storage location for mail and address b
A 1gb pst file is quite large, if you only just started using outlook
With Outlook closed, copy the pst file to your prefered location. Rename the
pst at the old location.
Start Outlook, it will complain, browse to the new location & select the pst
NB If you have an archive pst at the old location, you might also want to
move this (also with Outlook closed)
Then in Outlook amend your Archive settings to point to your relocated
archive.

I have found a number of files in the same Outlook folder by searching for
*.pst on my C-drive. One file Outllok.pst is about 1 GB. I presume this is
the mail folder.
As you mention, the benefit of placing the files on another HD is for
backup. I do regularly backup of data on my HD2, but only backup of my
C-drive (actually HD1) when I have made changes.
How do I move the Outlook.pst file to say F:\e-mail ?
Thanks in advance

You need to search, to include hidden for *.pst which is the outlook data
file, by default named outlook.pst, there may aslo be an archive.pst, if
there is such you would need to amend your archive settings within OL.
The pst contains all data.
BTW it makes no sense to install apps to a different partition/hd you
gain
nothing in terms of performance or maintenance. There may be backup
considerations as to haveing data on a seperate hd.

I am using WIN XP prof with all updates on my PC connected to a small
LAN
in
my home. No servers.
I have used Outlook Express 6.0 for a number of years as my mail
program
with success. Now I have installed the Office 2007 professional suite
including Out Look 2007.
I used to have all my mails and address book located on a separate HD
and
partition in order to keep the C-drive for programs on another HD. In
OE 6
I
was able to move the storage location as I wanted, but I am unable to
locate
the same facility in Out Look 2007.
Any help
Thanks
Jorgen
