Save Message As
Thanks a for the info so far, but the problem persists.
I am new to this so please bear with me, I am not sure if both of you will
be getting this message so I will post it twice.
Let me try and walk you through this again.
When using 'Windows '98 and Outlook Express 5.5'
A1. After opening up an e-mail and hitting the "Save as" tab, the "Save
Message As" window opens up in the docked position (top left hand corner of
the display). I see the full "Save Message As" Popup window which is over the
message headers.
A2. I then dragged it to the 'Mid Right-hand side' of the display, for
convenience and proceed to save the message.
A3. On Saving the next message the "Save Message As" window, remembers where
I had dragged it to previously and opens up on the "Mid Right-hand Side" of
the screen, for example.
A4. Should I close Outlook Express and reopen it, it reverts back to the
docked position.
When using 'Windows 2000/SP4 and Outlook Express 6 (all with the latest
updates, at present)
B1. The process is duplicated as in A1 above.
B2. The process is duplicated as in A2 above.
B3. The "Save Message As", does not remember where I left it and it returns
to the dock position (top left hand corner of the display).
B4. I have not been able to test it in this application as it can not
remember B3 above.
Maybe there is a key, values or data that needs a tweak in the register, as
I have also instructed the 'Folder Options' to "Remember each folder view
settings".
I will try the 'New Identity' as soon as possible.

So far as I know, there's no way to affect where that windows opens. It
always opens in the upper left corenr of the message window, no matter
where that windows is located unless doing that would run off the edge of
the screen.

When using Outlook Express and you have opened a mail, by hitting the 'Save
as' tab it opens a Popup window. It is this popup window that I wish to be
"Non-Docking".
"Docking" is when the popup window always goes to the top left hand of the
screen.
Windows '98 only docked on commencement of a sesion, once dragged to a new
position it remained there, until 'Outlook Express' was shut down and
restarted.
Windows 2000 "Docks" all the time, and you have to keep on dragging it out
the way to view the Headers of the mail.
I date and time stamp all mail.

Can you elaborate about * non-docking*? I'm not familiar with the phrase.
And, what exactly you want to save.

Hi,
Whilst using Windows '98 I became accustomed to the non-docking feature of
the "Save Message As" feature whilst using "Outlook Express".
I would like to set up my Windows 2000 Professional using Outlook Express
6.0 to do the same (non-docking). Is it Possible?
Thanks.
