I am having the same probelm with the below ... but I have vista 32 bit system.
Problem: Contacts in Outlook 2007 not available in "To" field in Mail.
Attempts:
1) Right click Contacts, Properties, Outlook Address Book tab, Show this
folder as an e-mail Address Book is greyed out.
2) Tools, Account Settings, Address Books tab = "Outlook Address Book;
MAPI", Click Change option and Outlook Adress Books is vacant/transparent,
within this. Remove Adress Book does nil, Click New, Additional Address
Books, Outlook Address Book but will not let me add as CLAIMS already exists
and cannot be specified twice. BUT cannot remove existing
transparent/invisible adress book as this option is greyed out.
3) Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197577/en-us#appliesto and follow
all options but repeat performance of above

On Vista 64, you need to drill down another level to get to the Mail applet; see http://turtleflock-ol2007.spaces.liv...E3D8!169.entry. You might as well cut to the chase and create a new mail profile.

4) Read posts herein but in Control Panel for Vista in Classic View cannot
find a "Mail" icon to follow posts' advice for what I assume was XP at the
time.
5) Fresh install of Vista 64 bit and Outlook 2007 - no upgrades and no
migration
6) Assume a corrupt profile and look at
C:\Users\Phil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook wherin resides various files.
Google meaning of all files and whilst interesting guff about RSS feed files
emerges nothing of use to rename/delete/rebuild etc
Please assist.
