Well known bug. You can't repair the Outlook Address Book Service in Outlook
2007.
You must create a new profile.

4) Read posts herein but in Control Panel for Vista in Classic View
cannot
find a "Mail" icon to follow posts' advice for what I assume was XP at
the
time.
5) Fresh install of Vista 64 bit and Outlook 2007 - no upgrades and no
migration
6) Assume a corrupt profile and look at
C:\Users\Phil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook wherin resides various
files.
Google meaning of all files and whilst interesting guff about RSS feed
files
emerges nothing of use to rename/delete/rebuild etc
Please assist.
