Default Changing the background color of a MailItem

XML folder view does not expose custom formatting.
Displaying messages in red if the current date is greater than the FlagDueBy
property is the only way to make mesages standout uisng the out of the box
views.

Sorry, I guess I assumed that since this was a program addin newgroup it
would be assumed that I was looking for programming help. I use VS2008 and
Outlook 2007. I've look through the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.View
class but I'm not sure that the XML input it takes will do what I need.
I'd
like to be able to change the background color if a user property is set.

Sure, if you create/modify the folder view - click "Automatic Formatting"
button in the "Customize View" dialog.

Is there any way to change the background color of a Mailitem in the
list
portion of Outlook? I need to display a status for a MailItem given
certain
conditions and I think changing the background color would be the most
easily
recognizable.
