Default Updating calendar appoints for attendees

Why does Outlook leave the old information on the calendars when the
appointment has been "updated"? This is confusing for the attendees. Why -
when an appointment is Changed the attendees must manually remove the old
information from their calendars? This is confusing. The "updated"
information should replace the "outdated" information automatically.
