Do you have permission to access her stored files? It sounds like you do
not. You cannot access another user's files without the appropriate
permissions. Search in Help and Support for information about permissions.

I tried Frank's advice and got into trouble.
After logging on to XP as 'admin' and changing the Message Store to
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Express", OE worked fine.
I then logged on to XP as 'user' (without admin privileges) and changed
the
OE Message Store to the new location. But, as 'user', when I try to run OE
it
bombs: "Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable
to
open the Outlook Express message store."
Do I need to use Regedit to get OE working again under the 'user' login?

In your OE go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder and write
down
where OE is storing its data.
Close OE.
Open Windows Explorer.
If you are using Win2K, WinXP or Win2K3 click Tools | Folder Options |
View
and set it to Show hidden files and folders.
Go to you store folder and copy all of me DBX files to an empty Windows
folder. Make sure you include Folders.dbx.
Close Windows Explorer and open your wife's OE.
Go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder and write down the
path
to her data,
Click Change
IMPORTANT WARNING: For the next two steps decline any offer to move her
files or folders or messages.
Enter your store folder path and click Okay.
Close OE.
Reopen it and answer 'No' to an offer to move things.
Go back to your own OE and Choose File | Import | Messages and import
from
her store directory.
