Default Upgraded to XP and DSL and can no longer access OE

What OS did you upgrade from?

For the dial-up prompt:

Tools | Options | General. If My computer is not connected at this time - Do
not connect.

In IE: Tools | Internet Options | Connections. Check: Never dial a
connection.

Check your settings in these areas also, and make sure there is no
indication of using Dial-up.

Tools | Options | Connection.

Tools | Accounts | Mail & News | Properties | Connection.

Control Panel | Network Connections.

For the error message:

Please post the error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to
highlight and then right click to copy and then paste it into this thread.

I recently installed XP on my computer and, after lengthy hold times to
AT&T
in India, was finally able to get my DSL up and running. I had been on
AT&T
dialup for years. When I try to send or receive in OE now, I get a box
asking
my ID and password to connect via dialup, which it won't do, or error
messages saying my POP3 can't be found. Now that I'm on DSL, what do I
have
to do to get OE to function?
